Religious Education
The Transfiguration School of Religion exists to assist families in the faith formation of their children. The program provides opportunities to learn Catholic doctrine, to share faith, to worship through prayer and sacrament, to connect to our parish community, and to respond to the gospel message in witness and service.
Wednesdays
4:30pm – 5:45pm
7:00pm – 8:15pm
Sundays
8:45am – 10:00am
10:30am – 11:45am (English)
11:00am - 12:15pm (Polish)
We meet to assist families to share the Catholic faith with their children.
An ideal candidate for this ministry would have a love of children/young people, a desire to pass on your faith, and patience and dedication.
Training involves taking a class to earn your catechist certification and all are expected to be practicing Catholics willing to share their faith. A catechist must be 18 years old, but teens are welcome as aides, etc.
There is a weekly commitment of 1-1/2 to 2 hours for all volunteers. Catechists require additional planning and formation time.
This ministry has enlightened my life by seeing a community of over 130 volunteers and 400+ families all working to help others grow in God’s love is very inspiring.
My best moment of being involved in this ministry is anytime a catechist goes out of their way to reach their class or anytime children or young people show they “get it” (they really understand what God’s love is all about).
