Questions & Answers

In advance of our Open House this weekend, we thought we’d share some Q&A that you can share with others.

Can anyone attend a service at Transfiguration?
The short answer is YES!  Our service, the Holy Mass, brings forward the prayer tradition of the Catholic Faith. All are welcome to participate through the music, scripture, prayers and even in the silence!

Will I be able to follow the prayers being said?
Yes!  The shared prayers are printed in the bulletin newsletter distributed before each service.

Am I required to put money in the collection basket?
Contributions are voluntary! Any tithes received help support Transfiguration’s mission as a people called to build a catholic faith community.

Do you know the history of the beautiful stained glass windows in the parish office?  Have you stopped to get a better look at the beautiful stained glass windows in our church?
Come and see!
What if I have questions about the service at Transfiguration Church?
The priest (main celebrant) and helping ministers (parish members who assist the priest) usually stand at the back of the church after Mass and would love to answer your questions.

What other activities are available at Transfiguration Church other than Weekend Service/Mass?
PRAYER (Holy Hour of personal prayer on Wednesdays and other devotional prayer opportunities throughout the year), EDUCATION (classes for growing in the catholic faith for children and also those interested in considering the Catholic faith; small faith groups for connecting more deeply in community),
SERVICE (ministries in support of helping others in need like St Vincent de Paul, Right to Life, Mats for the Homeless, Ministry at weekend Mass), and
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES (Hospitality/Fellowship Sundays, 2nd Tuesday Ladies Bunko; more to come!)  And join us for MASS ON THE GRASS at 11am on August 8th at the Wauconda Park District as we celebrate our Parish Feast Day!
