Christ calls every member of the church into ministry. The church is “a kingdom of priests” –I Peter 2:9

Public Prayer and Liturgy at Transfiguration Church You were shaped to serve God. God formed every creature on this planet with a special area of expertise. Each has a particular role to play, based on the way they were shaped by God. Each of us was uniquely designed, or shaped,” to do certain things.
How will you serve God and others? God asks the church to be a fellowship sharing a common purpose and continually growing in faith. Paul describes the church as Christ’s “body” (Ephesians 1:22).  People experience the presence of Jesus Christ in the world through the ministry of the church. When the church serves the needs of people, members and non-members, it is an expression of the love of Christ. The church is a servant body, created for service.

ALTAR SERVERS

Serving at the altar, [the pope told the young people,] is a privileged way to draw closer to Jesus, which in turn “enables you to open yourselves to others, to journey together, to set demanding goals and to find the strength to achieve them.”   —Pope Francis, Aug 4, 2015

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD

Nothing gives me greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
–3 John 1:4
This ministry brings the Liturgy of the Word to children ages 4 to 9 in a way that they can meet and get to know Jesus through the Sunday Scripture readings.  We would like to return this ministry to our weekend experience for our families.  We are in need of volunteer catechists.  Can you help?
