On behalf of the Transfiguration School of Religion director, Catechists, Frassati Principal, Teachers, Families, and Friends.

And united by the Most Blessed Sacrament, we would like to congratulate the 2020/2021 First Communicants!

Rev. Fr. Juan Avila Ibarra and Fr. Alex Garcia, welcome many families on Saturday, May 1, 2021, where 52 children united with Jesus Christ through the Holy Eucharist, the precious body of Christ. May that they be filled and nourished by our Lord and Savior.  May the good lord guide them throughout their journey and pray that God’s grace shine upon them today as they grow in the spirit of His embrace now and always.

The whole parish community is invited to keep them in your prayers as they journey along with Christ.

===== Tax Credit Scholarship – Limited Time Special Opportunity

Frassati Catholic Academy needs our support today. Currently, there are 49 students on a waiting list hoping to receive funding so that they will be financially able to attend Frassati Catholic Academy next year. From now until MAY 31, Frassati has a fantastic opportunity to have all donations made through the Invest in Kids Tax Credit Scholarship program matched dollar for dollar by a generous donor, doubling the impact of these donations. All donations made through this program by individuals are also eligible for a 75% Illinois state income tax credit.

Please consider helping to fund scholarships for Frassati students in need. Frassati Catholic Academy and the Archdiocese of Chicago Office of Catholic School’s Scholarship Department will be hosting an online informational meeting on Wednesday, April 28 at 7 pm via Zoom. This meeting will discuss the benefits of donating to the Invest in Kids Tax Credit Scholarship Program, and the steps you need to take to donate through this program. A Zoom link will be emailed directly to all who register HERE. As an added incentive, anyone who attends the online Zoom presentation will be entered into a drawing for a $25 Amazon gift card just for listening. Please note that there is no obligation to donate.

For additional information about this amazing opportunity to help fund Catholic education, please listen to the attached short video https://youtu.be/_1t6oivo7PM

===== 2021 Lenten Message Series

When God Doesn’t Make Sense

When we look at the world, we see evil and injustice. Bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people. Why does an all-good and all-powerful God, allow injustice to happen? Why doesn’t he stop it? Why does God seem to be silent on prayers he should
answer while answering prayers that seem insignificant? If we were God we would certainly run the world differently.

These questions are nothing new, but were experienced by many people in the bible. In this series, we will look at some of God’s ways that don’t seem to make sense. We’ll examine what to do in the face of such questions and look at ways we can grow to understand God’s perspective.

Week One – Why does GOD withhold good things from us? (English W1) (Español W1)
Week Two – Suffering / Pain / Injustice (English W2) (Español W2)
Week Three – Is God with us or not? (English W3) (Español W3)
Week Four – Injustice:  Why do innocent people suffer and why does it seem like evil
is sometimes rewarded?  (English W4)  (Español W4)
Week Five – Unanswered Prayers  (English W5)  (Español W5)
